Power or physical gain: Horizon gain (and I was also hoping that him having been semi-close to the Singularity during his quest maybe contributed as well): Something similar to Shield of Faith, Thancred will be able to create a shield around himself or another person within range of him (no more than 10 feet) that mitigates damage for a short period of time, around 5 minutes. He can only do this once per day. Notable actions: Thancred was gone from Castle Thorne from March 25th through April 19th on the quest for Ambrose. He traveled all over Thorne setting up devices that will supposedly measure magical energy put out around the region, particularly for the purpose of tracking when people (or less savory things) are summoned into the world via the Singularity.
