[ Claude feels no less reassured by hearing it's a children's game the second time around than he did with the first. It also only stokes his endless need to understand anything he doesn't that much further, though as the cards are gently returned to the deck he senses outright asking isn't going to uncover anything else here.
At the reassurance that the medicine seller won't tell anyone Claude opens his mouth to say it doesn't matter, it's not like anyone here knows who he is - then thinks better of it at the last second. Because that might be true, but they still don't really know what Abraxas wants with them. Better to not risk it, so he shuts his mouth and nods as he sits back in his chair. ]
I would think being able to tell someone's... current self is useful. [ He starts that thought slowly, wheels still turning over what just occurred. ] Is it done spiritually?
[ Now he tilts his head to one side, recovered from his temporary consternation when curiosity wins out every time. ]
Where I'm from, those mirrors - [ a wry smile at his own expense, and meant for the medicine seller's entertainment - ] one reflection would balk at it, say anything outside of what their goddess blessed shouldn't be done. But, the other reflection would approve and say that anything that brings one closer to the gods is a good thing.
Is it like either place where you're from? Or something else entirely?
