She was sitting there for awhile, amazed at all the food, yet unable to get herself to eat any. Instead, she was aimlessly pushing it around her plate, lost in her head.

The three of them were supposed to go on a journey, to get Emil's body back, and cure her possession. But Emil was... gone. And Kainé was stuck here now, alone. Dammit! She got used to having that idiot around! Was she actually missing him?

And then it was as if his voice popped right out of her thoughts.

"Nier?"

She whipped around so fast that she knocked her goblet of wine right off the table and onto his lap.

Then she jumped up in a flash and grabbed him by the front of his tunic, bringing his face to hers and looking into his clearwater gaze. Her eyes widened when she realized it really was him and she unceremoniously dropped him back onto the bench.

"How fucking long have you been here?" She yelled, putting her hands on her hips.

Some of the other diners turned to stare, but Kainé ignored them.
