EVENT #1 OOC PLOTTING POST

EVENT #1 OOC PLOTTING
Hello and welcome to our very first event! This is where you can OOCly ask us questions and plot with other players.

We'd also like to give a quick rundown of both this event and the events that will follow in the next few months, just so you're all prepared!

June 12th and 13th will be the same as what was on our TDM, so you can make individual logs for these days or decide that some of your TDM threads were canon for them. During this time, honored guests will be told about the Singularity and Thorne's goals regarding it (anything you see about that on the FAQ is something they're allowed to know). They will not be told why they specifically are here and why they're honored while others are imprisoned, but they can tell prisoners about the Singularity if they like.

If you haven't already, please sign up for room and cell assignments in this post! RNG assignments will be given at the end of the day.

This event, which takes place from June 14th-19th, will be divided into two smaller groups. The honored guest event primarily focuses on politics and worldbuilding, while the prisoner event has more horror and mystery. We wrote these events based on what we hoped each group would enjoy, but there is some opportunity to go with the other group if you'd like!

The downtime between this event and July's will involve basically the same setting as the TDM, except honored guests will have their powers back, they can now venture out into the town instead of being stuck in the castle, and an honored guest will be able to sign a prisoner out for a trip to the town if they say they need help with something and have them back in a few hours. Escape will still not be possible during this time, but hold tight!

July's event will be a longer one and will involve every character together without being split into groups. This event will involve war, more information about the other factions, and a better look at the Singularity.

August will begin by introducing our second group of characters (please note that we have a player cap, not a character cap, if you would like to app a second) and will then be followed up with two NPC logs that will wrap up the honored guest and prisoner arc and allow everyone to explore more individual goals and plot arcs from then on. If these first two events feel more linear than what you were expecting, they are intended to be a slow introduction to the game and a chance to build CR and start coming up with arc ideas before we throw you right into individual plotting.

There will be an opportunity for prisoners to be released before the NPC logs in August. More on that will be posted after this event.

Lastly, we'd like to thank you all for your involvement in the game! These first few months are going to involve a lot of us getting our footing here, mods included, so we thank you for your patience with us and with each other.

Some questions everyone might want to know the answers to:

1. Equipment and lighting in the tunnels

2. Clothes in the tunnels

3. How fast powers return for welcomed characters

4. Where to post top levels

Kiryu would be down with 'letting' them get lost. Not saying he has to be in on it but just letting you know, he's sympathetic and would work with them on that plan if they hint in that direction.

Having a supervisor that is lax about letting Estinien do his thing while planning this would be immensely helpful, really! Even if Estinien doesn't share his plan and leaves it ambiguous, he could at least communicate that he wants space, which Kiryu can take as he would. I'd also love for them have a thread where they chat so Estinien can see what kind of dude he is! He's somewhat distrustful of "guests" but he'll also be glad to know that some of them are remaining sympathetic to the prisoners. (And can keep that in mind when he's back in jail.)

Kiryu would see him as an adult who needs looking out for as someone he's fighting beside but he'd respect him until he sees a reason not to, and give extra leeway and patience given that he's been locked up the whole time. Kiryu's got an open post if you like; he's spending most of his time looking out for the dungeon folks so they can meet there or just talk during the mission!

Hmmm... do you have a preference to whether they meet in jail or for the first times in the tunnels? I've been trying to decide but I'm unable to come to a conclusion at the moment, lol.

I’d say if you’re more interested in playing out a bit of trust building, we start in the tunnels and if you’re more interested in letting the CR develope during the tunnel mission, we start in the dungeon.

Heeeeya, I just wanted to update you that based on the thread we've done so far, Estinien has gotten a good impression of Kiryu and in tunnel time will at least make vague hints towards the idea that he's attempting something sneaky so that Kiryu isn't caught completely off guard by it. He isn't going to flat out tell him the plan or that he's trying to escape, mostly because he wants to give Kiryu plausible deniability, but the clues will be there... even if it isn't clear if he succeeded or just died during the attempt.

Nodnod. Kiryu will (and I'm going to try and tag in during the catch up time but just so you know) pick up on the clues and is going to basically look literally anywhere else he can to give them as many opportunities as possible.
