Character Name: Diana of Themyscira Arcana: The Empress Faction: Free Cities
Nightmare theme: Personal failure (real or imagined), and feelings of helplessness/powerlessness when it came to preventing those failures. There are a few big traumatic points in Diana's life where she feels as if she could have/should have stopped something terrible from happening, but either didn't act fast enough or was incapable of acting at all. That eats at her, and will manifest as her Entity.
Nightmare description: CW: WAR IMAGERY, DEATH MENTION, FORCED RESTRAINT Diana's nightmare will primarily be set in two places: on Themyscira's beach, and on a battlefield. It won't be any battlefield in particular, but those with a keen eye for Earth history might notice that the trenches, uniforms, weapons, etc. are very early 20th century. As the event goes on, the two settings will merge together, creating a horrible landscape of crushed natural beauty and "modern" warfare.
Whatever the scenario in the nightmare is (Antiope's death, the destruction of Veld, Steve Trevor's death etc.), a dramatized version will play out for the duration of the nightmare, sometimes "resetting" to play out again. A common theme will be Diana being restrained by chains attached to her Amazonian bracers, anchoring her to the earth and keeping her from intervening in any of these tragedies, or being prevented from averting these deaths in some other way.
Entity: Diana's Entity will take the form of Antiope, the General of the Amazons and also Diana's mentor. Antiope died when German forces chased Steve Trevor to Themyscira's shores, and she sacrificed herself to save Diana, who had turned her back to the enemy. Antiope's armor will be largely intact, except for a bullet hole in her abdominal region and smears of blood on the leather. She represents the first failure that Diana feels she could have avoided if only she hadn't frozen during her first real battle.
Accepting faction intervention: Yes, Diana will accept faction intervention, especially when told that the Entity may manifest forreal and wreak havoc. She doesn't want anything to tarnish her memories of Antiope :(
Is there anything you don't want to interact with? N/A, if anything comes up, I will let others know.
General Plans: Diana has been pushing down a lot of her feelings of failure (letting Antiope & other Amazons die, letting the people of Veld die, letting Steve die, realizing that the concept of war is bigger than just one person, etc.), so this is going to be a way for her to have to face it by being subjected to her failures on repeat for several days in a row.
A couple of these concepts/memories were a part of April's event, so I'm leaning towards her primarily entering other people's nightmares or combining with them rather than rehashing some of these things again, but I'm mostly going to go with the flow. And if we missed out on digging into some trauma in April's event and you're interested now, please hit me up via pm or on plurk at watchet!
