Kimiko catches on quickly, eyes following Shepard's economical gestures as she smiles apologetically and gives her own throat a quick tap. Voice, not ears. She can hear. The issue isn't even with her throat, but her mind, or her heart; but explaining it this way is quicker.

Then she's looking back at the map again. She gestures to her chest quickly—"me?"—and then draws a circle over the perimeter of the map that trails off into a question mark—"where?"

With no text on the map, they're left to figure out the location of the military base the hard way.
