Ben decided to take the long way back to the Settlement after his work at the farm concluded; the roads are safe enough during the day, and it's not far out from the town. He did spy Klaus standing there off in his own little world as he approached, but wasn't sure whether or not to enquire if he was all right before Klaus addressed him. The question seems...odd.

"Some children, yes." He says with a slight frown. Back in the Settlement of course, but there had been a few running around the farm, helping with the work in small ways. "But, no bikes that I've seen. Did you...upset this girl?" Maybe he's looking to apologize.
