He doesn't have enough People in his life for that not to be significant. The concept that he's undervaluing them goes against everything Dean's programmed to be. It's an itch too deep to scratch.

She's a hunter, she's a kid. He knows better than most what it's like — both being one and raising one. Makes a choice not to let the ice queen freeze him out just yet, and gently presses in on the new walls. )
