The man gestures to to Steve's outfit, asks and you didn't? like he means something by it, but Steve doesn't...make the connection at first. It leaves Steve blinking once, and then twice, because he wasn't the one walking in to town, he was leaving, but-

"Oh, you mean here here. Like- okay, yeah, I did. But I meant that you just-" Steve gestures to the road, from the road down the path leading to town. But then somewhere in the motioning he starts to feel stupid, so he just shakes his head. "Nevermind, but I won't say no. If you really want to come." And then Steve gives him a small smile, because while part of him appreciates the effort he puts into being specific - I don't doubt your capability - but the honest truth is Steve knows he is in way over his head. And he'll take the help.

"If you've got experience, then yeah, I'm not going to stop you. I don't even know what I'm looking for." At least he's honest?
