If you'd asked me that weeks ago in my own world, I'd have told you there's no such thing as magic.

[Part of him still thinks so. The phantoms his master had used against him were only illusions, and Altaïr had pierced them in the end; but still, they'd had weight and power, more than what a single man can wield. Illusions, magic, some other word — does the term used matter as much as what it describes?

Besides, it's certainly harder to explain his arrival here without ascribing it to magic.]


I know better than to close my mind to the reality around me now. But the concept of magic as more than something from a story is new.
