Altaïr will go with the guards after a brief hesitation. Upon questioning, he will freely admit that he may be the person in the reports, privately reasoning that if they have identified and located him, denying it will not be believable. He will not ask about others who have been on the rooftops or mention acquaintances he has run into there. He will explain that he grew up in a very hilly landscape and it is not unusual for young men in his village to skip trudging up the winding paths in favor of traveling rooftops for increased speed, exercise and better knowledge of the area layout based on seeing it from a different angle. (If lightly pressed, he will admit with a touch of sheepishness that it is also pretty fun.)
His demeanor during this is fairly calm and straightforward; he doesn't attempt to charm the interviewer or volunteer excess information, but he doesn't appear to be upset about being there. None of his answers are lies; he is simply leaving out additional context related to his youthful and present-day rooftop ventures.
