"The local blacksmith. I see." Her response is carefully neutral, but it's one he'd know well. It's her 'I'm still trying to process how I feel about this' sort of response. After all, she of all people knows how he feels about his family's business. Or how he felt. Maybe it's different now. Maybe things are different here, away from the expectations of the Talis name.
A tiny, practical part of her mind makes note of this fact simply because this means he can probably make her a new rifle. Not that the ones here are bad exactly, but they could be much better and a rifle made my Jayce and Viktor would far surpass any other.
"In an unfamiliar place, it's important to do what one must to get by." Is her eventual conclusion. After all, at her core Caitlyn is a fairly practical soul and being a blacksmith here probably makes more sense than trying something else. Almost like how she's been considering joining the military, though after how powerless she's felt with the Enforcers recently she's been hesitant. Thinking perhaps there'd be a more productive use of her time and talent. At least now she'll have Viktor and Jayce to bounce ideas off of, to help her figure out just what's going on in this place.
The workshop is very familiar. Honestly, Jayce's brand of creative chaos is about as familiar to her as her own rooms at this point. Plus, now they're out of the public eye and can truly relax. Good.
When he says magic, she startles out of her thoughts. Confused. Then he's actively doing magic and she's even more confused. How is this possible? This place had changed them fundamentally then?
"They've given us magic?" Why she even says it, Cait's not even sure. After all Jayce literally just proved it to be true. "Oh, you've surely been enjoying that. I'm so glad for you Jayce!" The fact that she, herself, is also capable now hasn't fully sunk in yet. But it will, with time.
