What's left of Sam's drink — not much — is long since warm, and as Inej buzzes around doing her usual duties, he finds himself forced to come back from somewhere else to really acknowledge first that she's said something, and second what she's said. The four syllables roll around and Sam sucks in a deep breath as and sits up from his long-hunched position as it all falls into place.

He's been working hard to understand and acclimate, to remember names and places, and the more he's at it, the more he longs for the resources from back home. While he doubts similarly options are utterly out of reach, it's the format of everything that's giving Sam pause. Their lifelong preference to proven, practiced measures doesn't extend one-to-one to here and finding a new comfort level with what's afforded by the Singularity, its people, and the (alleged) long-standing civilization is taking some time and mental flexibility.

"Um. Sure, I'll take another, thanks," he finally agrees, smiling in appreciation, twisting in his chair to get a better look at Inej. "And if you have a couple minutes, I'd love to ask you a few questions, too," Sam adds.
