State of the Game

October - November (2022)

Welcome to our State of the Game! Here, you can read about what might be going on in the world around Abraxas and with the characters in it. Every AC period, you can report what your character has been up to and we'll include all relevant information in the next newsletter.

We encourage you to use the information here to springboard new CR or plots if you're so inclined. Our Plot Engagement and World Building page are always open for submissions.

After blood spilled between Thorne and the Free Cities, alongside a great sacrifice in Solvunn by a group of Summoned that stirred one of the gods, three of the Old Gods awoke: heralds of war that bring with them afflictions that spreads throughout the land and who forged a unique connection with the Summoned. The Horizon also undergoes some unusual disturbances, corrupting domains and trapping those who enter in bizarre scenescapes.

While events have settled somewhat, the three major nations have grown wary both among the common people and officials. A few of the Summoned have started to be pulled aside for questioning.

Nocwich Opening | LINK
Nocwich, who remains free from the influence of the Heralds last month, has decided that it's ready to open Oleuni Square on a more regular basis.

While the territories of Ikorr and Luna outside of the Square continue to remain closed, portals to Oleuni Square will now open for 3 days every first weekend of each month. Any character who has their pendant from the original Nocwich trip can continue to use it to visit while the newly Summoned will be given a pendant upon arrival after they've formally settled into their factions.

Upon checking one of the thaumametors, Stephen and Thancred discover an undead rat, which they deliver to Ambrose. Consequently, Thorne had far fewer problems with the undead and were able to prevent important royal burial sites from being disturbed.

Royal Guardsmen

Lucifer became the first targeted for some brief questioning by Thorne officials. At this time, it's unknown how many others will follow. He received light disciplinary action in exchange for a service.

Claude became the first targeted for some brief questioning by Free Cities officials. At this time, it's unknown how many others will follow.

Horizon

Upon the arrival of the Heralds and the Horizon malfunctioning, two domains inside the Horizon were disturbed with some rumbling and humming...as though something lurks beneath. Both domains happen to be fashioned after or resemble a towering relic.

Having exhibited and continued to seek a unique connection with the Singularity, both Rhy and Julie were thrown into and trapped in an odd plane of existence for several days alone.
