aristaeus — original, thorne, judgement

𝒯𝐻𝒪𝑅𝒩𝐸

𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘵;
( look, the absolute last thing aristaeus wants to be doing right now is attending the banquet. there's too many people, too much noise and he's still trying to get a handle on — well, everything about his present circumstances. but with the mages being less than willing or able to answer his (admittedly less than delicate) questions, he's left with little recourse but to seek out the other summoned in the hope that they have something useful to share. )

Quite the spread, ( he nods toward the tables, which are weighed down with more dishes than he can hope to recognize.

aristaeus can't actually remember the last time he ate, much less so lavishly. the priory has always the kind of simple, nutritional fare that no one in good conscience would ever call appetizing. )

Any recommendations?

( when they'd told him that nocwich was shrouded in eternal night, he'd thought they were being hyperbolic.

most of his time is spent browsing the marketplace, less out of a desire to make any purchases than to simply see what's on offer. the vendors, undeterred, do their best to encourage him to reconsider.

the main stage gets some cursory interest, but he's quickly drawn to the gambling den. there's more than one kind of currency, after all, and while he's not able to rely on his abilities to push the matter it turns out that he's passably good at some of the games. enough to come away with a few more coins than he'd started with.

finally, there's the hot springs. as dubious as he might be of any large bodies of water right now, curiosity quickly wins out. how fortunate that he's never been particularly prone to embarrassment. )
