Political connections: Petra does have a working relationship with a number of local merchants (and likely guards, as well) since she escorts folks through the desert as needed, but otherwise has not wanted to engage with the local officials too much.
Investigation plans: → Absolutely heading into the desert with her girl Hilda! Because both she and Claude spend so much time out there for various work opportunities, it will make sense of them to want to start there when they realize he's missing a little longer than usual, and it stands to reason that Sylvain might have gone along with him. If anyone wants to run into one or both of the girls while exploring hidden chambers and the like, it's doable! → Petra will be looking to infiltrate bandit camps for information, and will gladly accept any aid in this area, especially if your character also has experience in subterfuge. → She'll be going around knocking on doors to do interviews in an attempt to find a solid lead. Interrogations aren't typically her style, but she's not squeamish, either, so if she ends up talking to a shady character who seems like they might be dangerous, she'll have no problem using more force. How far beyond that she goes will depend on the situation.
General plans: → She'll be filing a report on Claude and Sylvain at the very least, though the long wait times will be frustrating and she's going to be very antsy to do something herself. She's not a "wait and see" kind of girl. → Going to be volunteering for Viktor's plan along with Hilda. → Generally, she'll want to leave no stone unturned, ESPECIALLY once she starts finding out what the Lost are actually going through via whatever communications can be made. She'll only start to feel more urgently about the situation, and wants to see all those taken rescued as quickly as possible. She's also available for cross-faction contact and negotiations— everyone is impacted by this, after all. → She's a helper, in general. She's here for all information gathering or search & rescue efforts that she can potentially be of use in.
