The bird is desiccated, as if it's been drained of its life force. Its normally vibrant plumes are dull, and some of its feathers have fallen out. At the top of the tree, Kyle will find deadened leaves that are equally sucked empty of both life and color. The bark and wood is also deadened, turning black.
