Acts of aggression towards the High Mage will receive immediate attention from the royal guards. They will stop Lucifer from reaching Ambrose, who appears a combination of mixture of tired and annoyed by the commotion.

Lucifer will receive a timeout in the dungeons for the rest of the day. He'll be let out in the morning. A day or so afterwards, he will receive a brief but honest handwritten note from Ambrose stating that this incident is unprecedented. Further, there has not been evidence that any of the Summoned were abducted while within the walls of the castle, suggesting that - similar to what Thorne has always said - the Summoned are safest when in the castle. Thorne does not believe weapons would have helped prevent the situation.

Nonetheless, Thorne is committed to their mission of protecting the Summoned. Thorne agrees that there can be improvements made, but stresses that hindsight is 20/20 and that they can only continue to move forward. They are bringing in skilled mages from Hayle for a fresh perspective, including investigating whether the Singularity may have had an impact on what happened.

The note concludes that they hope they can rely on Lucifer understanding that the most valuable Lucifer can be is to offer his ongoing assistance to help save the Summoned.
