If they dig deep enough through some fungal growths, they'll discover the remnants of a skeletal corpse. It contains a small pouch in which an old glass jar of healing ointment remains. The container is labeled with a faded etching.

Unfortunately, there's no way to confirm how effective the ointment is, so they will have to risk it and test it on themselves. While no longer as potent as it once was and somewhat foul-smelling, it will help soothe and heal surface injuries.
