The face is human. However, when the Acolyte moves to get away, they will notice that he appears discombobulated and has his hands out in front him, as though he can longer see without his mask. He will quickly disappear in a cloud of mist.

No Acolytes will appear without their mask. It will not be possible at this time to tell if he has returned with a new mask or he has vanished forever...but they or someone else may discover his fate later depending on how the situation unfolds.
