They'll receive a guard to accompany them. As expected, they find similar patterns as the others have discovered, confirming that this must be one of the locations where victims were taken through to where the Lost are kept. They'll also find a broken piece from a hunting bow that may belong to the man the woman spoke of, though his body will be absent and the rest of the bow is missing. The bit of wood will show similar signs of rot to what was discovered in the lumber delivered to Libertas - the first sign of the flesh rot in Thorne, as Lenore may recall the grain sent throughout Thorne was overall found to be safe.

Lenore may further smell trace amounts of blood, though the blood would not be visible to the human eye.

With a bit of coin, they can find a mage who's willing to speak to them. He has a disfigured eye and operates a business that's somewhat under the table.

He'll explain that most people in Nott use Wild Magic for low level magic such as household chores and day-to-day activities. For larger spells such as what's being observed here, Wild Magic is unlikely to be a source as the amount of power it would take is too great to perform safely. There's currently no one he's heard of who could maintain this type of magic using Wild Magic. It would either fail or the attempt would cause undue destruction to both the user and their surroundings. Therefore, the type of magic used, if not Academic Magic or New Magic, must be High Magic.

He adds that if Rhy wants help from one of his own, there was a pink-haired Summoned lass who possessed a noticeably powerful ability with Wild Magic, though he believes she also lacks the control to do any magic of this type on a large scale. She lived in Nott many months ago and hasn't been seen since. He bids her "good riddance," claiming she destroyed his window. He tells Rhy to be careful if he talks to her as she might "blow him to pieces, too."
