Unlocking the final shrine will cause several thick trunk-like pillars to sprout from the ceiling to the ground. The ground will shake violently and the discordant whispers will vanish. It appears what was within has been released and is now loose in the cavern, though it remains in slumber.
The pillars are fleshy and warm to the touch. Poking and prodding them will not make anything move, though they will bleed. It will not be possible to damage the pillars beyond superficial wounds.
The cracked wall will loosen further from the disturbance, making it a little easier to break through when the time comes.
