[ jess has felt out of sorts since regaining consciousness, head pounding and vision blurry, skin clammy, and steps clumsy in a way that feels dangerous. for a while she could blame the abduction and whatever had been done to her in that state, but as the days go on and the symptoms barely abate she starts to grow more worried that they'd done something permanent, that this is only the beginning.
she's not ready to face that possibility so in spite of how shitty she feels, she works to keep herself distracted. unloading supplies feels like a simple enough task, even if she's not as strong as she usually is, and there are enough people busying themselves with figuring out where things go that no one notices when she ducks away to occasionally dry heave or lean against the wall.
towards the end, she's looking even worse for wear than when she'd started, and it takes a second for her to recognize there's someone beside her, asking a question. once it registers, she straightens, trying to pull herself together enough that the offer doesn't get rescinded. ]
Don't know where to find one, but I'm up for looking. [ just ignore the fact that she really doesn't look it. ]
