Wylan jumps. He will probably always jump no matter how long and how used to Kaz and Inej never making noise he gets. But he knows that voice and he spins around immediately. Kaz will always make him slightly wary but he’s also a familiar face and Wylan considers him a friend, even if the feeling isn’t mutual.

He takes in what Kaz says and blinks. “Considering the last time I tried to be a waiter I don’t think this place is going to want me working here.” He was a terrible waiter- even if most of that was nerves.
