With a fuzzy connection to The Force, Obi-Wan has to trust his ability to read Rey's expressions (and she is quite expressive, which is helpful) to read where her mind might go. Hope, certainly, tempered by pragmatism.

Obi-Wan finds himself smiling, a soft quirk of his lips as he nods and lets his hand fall back to his lap. "I can teach you how to connect with the Force, how to use it to help yourself and those around you. It is no something done easily or selfishly, but I do not think that will be a problem."
