"They were kidnapped by some cultists and trapped in an underground pit with little to no food and water and monsters skulking around. For weeks. And then they were forced into a drugged ritual that caused them to see visions and hurt others and themselves. They barely escaped and then were put into a freezing mountain with acolytes and monsters trying to kill them. We got to them in time."
Jesper says all of this flatly because the more words he puts to what happened the angrier he gets. He murdered so many people in order to get to them, shed a lot of blood of others, tortured, violated. And he wants to do more of it, he wishes he got every single one of them. He wished he didn't make any of their deaths fast.
There is a coldness to his eyes that is very rare to his general warmth and kindness, the brutal part of Jesper that only comes out when they're in a violent situation and it's his loved ones or the enemy. And he was in that state of mind for a month. He's not entirely out of it.
"The fact any of their kidnappers lived was not my choice."
