Lenore had only caught the sarcasm on the first part, and then the second part had been too colored by her own experiences. Her circumstances here are a significant improvement upon the situation she'd escaped.
"You must be Free Cities, then. They're very focused upon their military, from what I understand. In Thorne, the most important thing to them is their magic, so we're encouraged to learn it. I don't know much at all about Solvunn. I'm new enough to not have friends there." Lenore keeps her hands rested on her knee as she talks, posture as non-threatening as possible. She hopes some of this context is helpful, remembering how much she'd needed it when she first arrived. "Luna and Ikorr, here, the werewolves and the vampires, are neutral. The werewolves are friendly and welcoming, while the vampires are much more aloof. Even I can't get a conversation out of most of them, and certainly not past their gates. But the werewolves do have some very nice hot springs, if that's to your taste."
