"I mean, it's better than Thorne. Think full-blown renn fair, except that's just how you dress every day." Julie had not enjoyed that period of her wardrobe in Abraxas. "In Solvunn, they basically just wear potato sacks in different colors. Super basic. But you're gonna want some coverage here. Desert sun comes with desert sunburns. Plus, it can get real cold at night. Layers are your friend."

But it's just a suggestion. Plenty of people wear shorter sleeves, but Abby will notice as she settles in that the general population tends to lean toward being relatively covered.

For a moment, Julie appears to not be sure what Abby means. Flying clothes? It strikes her only after a second of thought, and she laughs. "Oh, they ain't really flyin'. That's me," she says with a smile. "You're gonna learn eventually, but we all sometimes just get random weird powers or whatever that we didn't have before. The first one I ever got was an invisible extra hand."

A distinctly human hand taps Abby on the shoulder. Julie hasn't moved, and if Abby looks around, she won't see anyone close enough to have touched her. A nearby hat is then placed jauntily on her head.

"Fuckin' wild, right? My world didn't even have magic. This world's got more'n it knows what to do with."
