Yeah, that’s brief version of it. There’s a much longer, more complicated one, but basically, there’s three kingdoms - ironic, huh? - that border each other around the Singularity. Which is… I dunno, this big monolith out in the middle of nowhere. There’s a lot of speculation that it might be what allows us to be brought here, or a connection to the gods who allow it or… I don’t know, I don’t think anyone does so they make up crazy theories to make it sound better.

Anyway, none of them can agree with what to do about it. And two of the Factions really disagree so they’re the ones in conflict the most. The third one’s not so innocent either since from what I can gather, most of them are religious crazies who worship the thing. And it was their extremist cultists who decided kidnapping a bunch of us and locking us underground with a bunch of monsters and hungry mushroom gods for a month sounded like a great plan.
