John lets out the bark of a laugh himself at her words. She always did have a way with them. Rather annoyed.

"I imagine that you were," he says. For a woman who had been separated from her husband for decades... It was a cruel twist of fate to have been separated from him so soon, and in such a manner. 'Rather annoyed' doesn't even begin to cover it, as far as John is concerned.

"I suppose that waking up in a fountain was better than the alternative, at least," he offers. "In both our circumstances." Drowning in the ocean, or finding oneself a prisoner of war. Neither situation is exactly the ideal.
