Not new to magic, but must admit I'm more partial to a blade. Rifts are a big problem normally but you're saying it happens all the time and as long as it's just "swans" then can't hurt that much. Maybe.

( The idea rifts just happen though? It has Cid's mind racing, analysing the information as he tries to make sense of it. Is the world that unstable? Or is it some kind of norm? Perhaps reality had an elasticity to it that no-one is aware of... )
