[ Julia hasn't been this comfortable with strangers in a long time and she doesn't know if it's because of the power inside of her. It's different from a human's and she doesn't feel fear the same way. It's a relief, in a way, but it also is very confusing. Touching his arm didn't seem offensive at least to him, so it's a relief.

She sees the fire in his palm and after a hesitation she turns her palm like he did and bright light sparks in it. A light that briefly seems to mirror in her dark eyes, before she releases it back into darkness again. Almost a 'you showed me yours so I'll show you mine' moment. ]

A price, like your chest?

[ He just showed her why he may be incapable of being healed, so that seems like an easy jump to make. Or it may be completely unrelated. No one looks over at them when they show off their magic, because it really is normal here, apparently. ]

We typically can't study magic until we're in our twenties, and that means most of your life you spend unaware, purposely. So for some of us, when we discover it, it's like a part of you that always existed is finally awake. You can be whole for the first time.

Maybe you can learn the magic here and it won't harm you. If everyone can use it safely, why not you?
