rooftops

[Altaïr is accustomed to having the rooftops to himself, for the most part. He is not the only one to use them for something other than keeping off the rain, but as far as he knows he's the only one to do so regularly.

So when he spots a new figure — not someone he recognizes, judging by the shape of his body and the way he moves — he can't help but be interested. This is a more efficient, more stealthy way of observing the city, but it's rare for anyone to realize it.

He follows for a time, taking the newcomer's measure. He moves easily, which signals that it is not his first time taking such a jaunt, but there's not much more to learn by watching. Altaïr drops down from where he's been pacing silently atop a higher section of roof, close enough to be heard.]
