"No," Catra hisses. "I'm not going to learn magic. No way."
In the past few months, she's learned that there can be good things about magic. She's seen the beauty of it in the shine of She-Ra's eyes, or the welcome chill of ice on a warm day, or the glimmering of the Moonstone in the evening when the light hits it right. But she's also spent her entire life -- and especially the last few years -- being so terrified of what magic can do that that's still her gut instinct: magic is scary, and easily used for evil, and she wants no part of it. Thanks.
"I just pressed him for information about the magic here, so I could be prepared if someone attacks me," she follows up, ruffled. And she'd gotten a good bit of information out of him, too, so she considers that interaction to be a win. "Apparently most people only use for it, like, household stuff. But there's a bunch of powerful mages that live in this castle."
Catra eyes the nooks and crannies of the hallway, as if said powerful mages might jump out at her at any moment.
