[Claude has always been amusing. And charming. It's magnetic and discomforting all at once, like stepping off a stair but not realizing he's already on the floor. Linhardt always feels as though he is missing something. As though he is missing a sense similar to how Caspar has no talent for sensing magic.

For now, however, the bit of 'normalcy' is welcome.]

We are still fighting in my Fodlan.

[Linhardt sighs and his shoulders sag for a moment; when wouldn't they be? Even if they won this war, there would be more to do, and decisions to be made. Linhardt...does not resent the timing of his Summoning. The time is welcome. He needs to think.]

I would be pleased to discuss something else.

[Talking to the socially adept isn't all bad.

He listens to Claude closely, tilting his head to the side and watching the other man with careful blue eyes like a cat.]

I know about the Singularity and that we are connected to it. I have been studying it in Thorne.

[It's a giant magical artifact nobody understands from a possibly divine source, Claude. What else would Linhardt hone in on?]

Do the creations have to adhere to conventional physical laws?

[Or could he actually map the complex magical topographies he wants to explore?]

In terms of being escorted, does the escort have to have any property other than being one of the Summoned?

[He muses on that requirement. Hilda had introduced him to the magical thought network, perhaps in addition to thoughts being communicated a key could be as well? And that is what happens - one Summoned passes a 'key' to another when they bring them into the Horizon?]

Are there fish in the pond?
