I know that I stepped into a time machine before I showed up here. [ A definitive nod. ] And I know that just 'cause you go backwards or forwards in time, doesn't mean you also move in space.

I was in California when the time machine left. [ One hand lifts, scratching the side of his head. ] But none of the places I've been to here really look like California. So whatever part of the timeline we're in, either this is a crazy ancient time, or...

Or I'm somewhere else instead of somewhen else. Which-- I don't know how I'd even get somewhere else, y'know? Especially somewhere with magic that could bunnify a guy.

[ Marty thinks back to all he's said and wonders if this is what Doc feels like whenever he explains anything time-related to him. But then again, Doc's oodles smarter than he is, and probably never feels like a moron the way Marty does now. ]
