[ That information about Ambrose is - interesting, Claude decides, especially because he's not sure he's heard it before. It'd take some combing through his conversations with Kyle to remember if that's really the case or not, something he doesn't really have the time to do here and now when Linhardt's still telling him even more information.

Other important things, like dismissing the mage which absolutely gets an appreciative snort of laughter from him. ]

I wonder if they've ever had that happen before. By someone who know what they're doing, I mean, rather than someone completely undelighted to be in Thorne or Abraxas as the bigger picture. But while the Free Cities might consider us weapons in the traditional sense given that so many of the Summoned there have military backgrounds, I wouldn't count yourself out as a weapon of another kind. I'd daresay they know exactly what they were doing by bringing you through if they're looking for someone to tackle something complicated with magic.

[ A conjecture, but one Claude's willing to bet on since there's certainly reasons for them all to have been here. Something else he can share, though he glances back over his shoulder idly first when there's the sounds of others walking in. They don't stop at their part of the spring and keep walking on through to another part of the spa, so that's easier to turn back to Linhardt though for this he lowers his voice to prevent it from carrying. ]

The first Summoned brought here - everyone came to Thorne. Some of them were told they were 'mistakes' and imprisoned while the rest were treated as honored guests. Something happened where they were able to escape to the Free Cities or Solvunn or stay, and from there the other two places started bringing in their own Summoned since they gained access to the ritual. It stands to reason each place has only been refining their methods since.

[ Something he's talked about with others though the ritual itself is beyond his knowledge - for now. It's difficult to not think of Viktor and what he hopes to do from his research, experimenting, whatever else it is he's indirectly helping with by helping out on the business side of the workshop to let the scientist focus.

They can get into that in a minute or perhaps in the Horizon considering while the springs are private there's a limit to how much prevention can happen in the way of things not being overheard. For now he merely offers another rueful smile over the idea of Teach not trusting anyone - something else he completely understands. ]

Why am I not surprised you didn't turn your work in? Maybe you won't be surprised to hear then I mostly turned mine in when I wanted to prove Teach wrong about something. [ This, at least, is easier to joke about, a past habit from days as students stubborn in different and similar ways. Teach probably had his or her hands full no matter which house was involved, truthfully. ] I can't help but wonder how he - or she - would do here.

[ Which - ]

I suppose now's a good time to mention that Edelgard and Byleth were in Thorne sometime before I arrived. I don't have many details, but it sounds like there's a very good chance it was the two of them you knew rather than anyone from my timeline or even Sylvain's.
