[ Finn knows he's reluctant. It wasn't until recently that he even admitted any of this to himself, well aware of how much help he could have been to the Resistance had he said something sooner. But, well, who could really blame him?

He does provide a bit of a shrug, though. ]

It kind of is. The galaxy's former Emperor could use the Force, and he didn't want any opposition. So he destroyed a lot of things, killed a lot of people. Now, there are barely any resources at all. A lot of interpretation to go around.

[ But it's still funny how much James is hung up on the choking people portion of the explanation, if Finn only knew what he was thinking. As it is, he just plays with his glass for a moment, hears James' question, and continues on for another beat like he hadn't heard anything... ]

It corrupts people. Not all of the time, but enough. When you can feel everything, all the time, it's too much. Some people lose it, fall into the dark side, let their emotions and the Force control them. Others try to find a balance, try to stay in the light, and they usually end up hunted or wrapped in a conflict they never asked for.

It just gets people killed. Not always the enemy. Bystanders, the innocent. But it's the people that love them who suffer the most.

[ Like Solo. Like the General. Even Rey thought that she had killed Chewbacca once. ]

Complicated, like I said. Just trouble.
