[ Really, he isn't looking for an escape yet. He'd be foolish to try something so soon, and he'd much rather let someone try and fail. He would like an explanation, though. This place is so new and vastly different from what was left of the world he came from. As far as he knows, there's really not much left to go back to, so this one will suffice for the time being.

It's probably easy to tell that Michael is still young and relatively inexperienced. His life's sole purpose was the thing that drove him, so without that purpose here, he may come off as arrogant. Kind of hard to top causing the apocalypse, right?

I sincerely doubt they would let any of us be in possession of a map. Given that they don't know where our loyalties lie.
