His father's son. Yes, that was the goal at this point, wasn't it? Get out of this place with Dracula's levels of dramatics and bloodshed, then find a tiny corner of the world to build a new crypt and sleep in. It was the best viable option. Hector probably wouldn't feel any compulsion towards the dhampir once they were out of Thorne, and the only other monster hunter Alucard had encountered so far had made it clear that the dhampir wasn't a particular priority. (Or wouldn't unless there was a hefty sum involved.)

(At least Geralt was honest.)

With the inevitable approach out of the way, Alucard remained quiet. Eyes ahead, although the temptation to close them was great. They'd be out of the sunlight quickly enough, and being forced in the dark for two days made even Alucard ache for the light.

But there was still impossible quiet. Awkward, but Alucard saw no reason to break it. He could even ignore the faint guilt over breaking Trevor's arm in the infinite silence.
