This deer man seems somewhat distraught about all of this, and Estinien is inclined to be sympathetic, temporarily having forgotten about the fact that Louis is a guest and he is a prisoner. He doesn't really know what can be said about this, but...

"Mankind does hunt and eat the animals of their own worlds... but no. They would not eat a person such as you, or me. You could not reasonably be mistaken for the animals here. The physical differences are as substantial as the mental."

Louis ultimately has very human-like proportions. Even if he were to forgo clothing and speech, it would be a less than natural sight.
