When it comes to injustice and anyone being wronged or harmed, he's a rebel, a renegade, a trouble-stirrer, asking questions, seeking to understand. That's been his modus operandi his entire life; travel the universe, find people in trouble, do everything he can to stop the bad things from happening and fix what's gone wrong, and then leave people to it. If this were any other situation, he would have flashed his psychic paper on the officials at Portam Hall and asked they turn over all evidence as part of an inquiry he'd just made up.
That's the difference here, though, and why he can't simply get his way: there's no leaving at all. He's trapped, without his ship, and so he's been forced to be careful and cautious. He does so loathe that. ]
On paper, I have no true reason to doubt them necessarily, but I'm not that sort. I doubt, I question, I explore. I'm curious.
