[ Hell, this woman was already a headache. Cassian had heard so much talk of Gods and magic since arriving here and while it hadn't been enough to make him a believer of the former, he can't help but wonder faintly if she is some sort of Chaos personified, stuffed into a slight package and ready to take anyone on that so much as gave her attitude.

Which, really he just ends up finding --

Out of the corner of his eye he sees her fist ready to swing. He knows what it looks like when he's about to be on the receiving end of a hit, knows how to dodge them too - well, sometimes. But he's got enough (dumb) confidence to think that he can (hopefully) dodge this one. Of course the smart thing to do here is try and diffuse the situation instead of aggravating it; hadn't he learned that by now? Somewhere he can hear Maarva sighing exasperatedly as he comes home with yet another bruise or black eye and he feels something hollow ring out in him again. He would do anything to smother that feeling.

He tilts his head to the side, mirroring her movement. ]

I'm trying to give you the time. I want to hear what you have to say. [ Otherwise he would have walked away too. He leans in just an inch. ] But seeing as you're stuck here just like me, I get the impression that you don't know any more than I do about being kidnapped from one galaxy to another. And magic and gods and lack of blasters and droids - all seem like something out of a storybook.
