"Yeah? It's a whole lot better than I was expecting. But to be fair, my world...sort of ended, so most things would be an improvement."

One aspect of her former life that Nadine doesn't shy from sharing is what happened to it. Not the details, unless someone really wanted them - no one does - but that a disease had wiped out of most of humanity and society had crumbled...there's no reason to sit on that.

It also explains why she's so at ease. That and the fact she's been here over two years.
