[ "The guy in the castle" is so unbelievably helpful and it's tempting to dryly respond with something equally unhelpful - like how that description could very well describe any number of people he had met in the last several days, or that he's sure most people are taller than she is. Snarky comment aside, there's a moment where he does think that she's talking about the mage that had pulled them out of the fountain in the first place. From what little he could recall in his panicked, disorientated haze, he probably seemed the sort who looked like he read too much and when you're on all fours, everyone is going to be taller than you. 

The sass manages to be contained but that doesn't prevent it from spilling out onto the expression on his face. But then she mentions something about a welcoming committee and how long he's been here and he gets the feeling that he probably didn't meet the same person she's talking about. ]


I didn't meet him. So I guess that makes him a shitty welcoming committee. 

[ He leads them aimlessly without any particular direction deeper into the market where the smell of food begins to fill the air. Thorne provided them with everything, but they still had yet to provide him with the thing he wanted most which was a way back. ]
