Player Name: Laure
Character Name: Dan Heng
Influence Rank: 0.

Current Territory: Solvunn
New Territory: Free Cities

OOC Reasoning: The greater variety of occupations in the Free Cities and the transactional nature of their economy would be an easier fit for me to find a wider Variety of Situations to put a pretty reserved character into, and I think he'd chafe at the restrictive situation for Summoned in Thorne (and give me a bigger headache down the line). His current canon point puts him at odds with a lot of Solvunn's beliefs and magic systems due to Baggageβ„’, but the general trappings of New Magic are a lot more in line with things he's used to in canon and is less of an IC jump to engage with. Additionally, since I have been having him swim around in the oceans to a minor degree so far in Solvunn (he's gone diving for fish a lot to acquire things to barter, and has done a casual ecological study of some aquatic species in the shallower waters of the Hydra Gulf), putting him on the other side of the continent might provide a better opportunity to learn about Tornis at some point, which was one of my original stated goals in my app. Also I think a water dragon person living in the desert would be cute.

IC Reasoning: Solvunn isn't very technologically advanced, in his opinion. When he went to help with the investigations on the island with the Pit, he saw the flamethrowers, and has heard stories about what it's like in the Free Cities. He'd say that he's interested in "actually being paid for [his] work", too. He seems young and economically motivated — but among his belongings are a pair of notebooks with diagrams of different plants and animals in Solvunn, plus some amateur geological notes on the Nether. If asked whether he's interested in scientific fields, he'll say he's done some ecological studies in different places he's visited before but like he said, Solvunn isn't very technologically advanced so he hasn't looked at anything in depth so far in Abraxas. He doesn't lie about any of his motivations.
