More than once in her life Dawn has been told she has a natural 'mom vibe' and while she didn't want to believe it in her twenties, ten years later she knows it's true. She has a very gentle, genuine way about her and connects well with people, especially young ones.

So it's no surprise that the second she sees the tall ginger boy who looks ready to cry she is dropping what she is doing to go check on him.
