It comes as no real shock to Wrench when the new face doesn’t respond in kind. It certainly would’ve been nice to find the recent summoned has already been given that much of an introduction to his new home, but it wasn’t very likely. Wrench isn’t sure anyone uses the particular quirk of magic quite as much as he does. So instead of interrupting he simply watches the man for his response, lips pursed and making a respectable enough effort to try to keep up. Or, at the very least, to look as though he’s trying to keep up.

By the time the stranger is mentioning gods that Wrench has never heard of, though, he’s about ready to throw in the towel. Once again the tall man is struck with the thought that any other resident of Solvunn would probably make a much better welcome party for the newcomers, but instead he holds up his hand and another string of words start to come. They’re fashioned in something that looks a whole lot like handwriting, and Wrench’s is a sort of lazy half-script that might not be the neatest, but is perfectly legible.

Can I teach you something? It’ll make this a lot easier for me. First thing to know is that you can do magic here. Doesn’t matter if you couldn’t at home, or if magic didn’t exist in the first place. Everyone here can.

The easiest trick is this. All you’ve got to do is think what you want to say towards me. Imagine wanting me to know it. Think of the words appearing to me.
