Wrench knows his own concept of religion is an ignorant one, but homeschooling a child in order to make sure he's available to help with church seems awfully fanatical to him. He sees no reason to say as much, though. Iggy doesn't seem to talk about it as though he did so begrudgingly, or that he holds a grudge against his parents for anything. In fact, they seem like relatively reasonable people.

So you really meant the thing about the souls. I'd like to see that.

Maybe Wrench can get some ideas of what, exactly, this is all supposed to look like. What his own God might like from him. Fortunately, the opportunity presents itself sooner than later as the path pushes them into a small clearing with a shrine at its focal point.
