[ Percy waits for the last of the visions of deserts and acidic air and deadly terrain to leave before he lets out a breath he didn't even realize he'd been holding.

He keeps himself rooted to where he is, just getting used to the feeling of being back in his own body and feeling Annabeth's hands on his face, their foreheads pressed together, hearing the sound of her voice — his tether, always his tether.

It's real. She's real. And like she's said, she's here, and they've found each other. Gods, it feels like forever ago, and he didn't want to admit it to anyone, not even himself, that being in this new land without her wasn't something he looked forward to. It scared him, even.

A moment later and he's freed from feeling paralyzed in his own body, moving his arms to fold around Annabeth's waist. He sinks his head into her shoulder in relief and just breathes her in. ]
